Introduction
For the upliftment of the jeevatmas, emperuman
never stops with the efforts that has already been stated but continues to do many
more unimaginable things. Then shouldn’t
we put our small efforts to experience that emperuman instructs azhvar to his
mind;
Commentary
(nenjE muyandRu thozhu) Oh My mind!
(under my control) Emperuman has been doing so many things for our benefit for many
many years. You also try to do your little
mite to surrender to His divine feet. Further, azhvar recollects one of the
great endeavors of emperuman.
(moorineer vElai eyandRa maraththAlilaiyin
mElAl) On top of the ocean, with splashing waves, on a small tender banyan leaf
unaffected and well settled;
(payindRa) reclined on it for quite some
time;
(angu) in that place, that surprises
even intellectuals like azhvars “balan thanaturuvAi….” (mudal thiruvandhadhi
69)
(maN nalamkoL veLLaththu) on that
destructive waters, ready to engulf the earth (place where all the jeevatmas
enjoy all pleasures (bhogyam), that which has the objects of pleasure (bhoga
upakaranam) and the place required for enjoying (bhoga sthanam));
(Or mAya kuzhaviyAi) He didn’t allow His
property on the earth to get destroyed instead safely protected everything in
His small stomach and reclined like a small child; His agadithagatana
samarthyam, to make the impossible possible;
(thaNNalangal mAlaiyAn) Even at that
time, decorated with cool, moving garland;
(thAn muyandRu thozhu nenjE) That emperuman,
who has done such divine feats for our sake, His divine feet don’t ignore or
neglect. But hold on with great
enthusiasm oh my mind!
