Introduction

Oh! Mind when the supreme Lord (master of one and all) as declared in the previous paasuram rejoices in our heart what do we need?

Commentary

(nal nenjE!) Azhvar calls his mind to be a good one.  What is the goodness of his mind?
If we say “He is present” the mind accepts the same without any argument.  Only when the mind accepts the fact, the very existence of the supreme Lord is proved and hence azhvar appreciates the goodness of his mind.

(vuLan kandAi) what is the purpose of the Lord’s existence?  Emperuman regards the very purpose of His existence is to protect the jeevatmas in all ways.
“echchAdha eva thava vishva padArththa saththA” [Srivaikuntha stavam 36]
[All objects gets their purpose by your wish]

Thereby the Lord protects us and makes His presence realized.

(vuththaman endRum vuLan kaNdAi) Whether we accept or not accept His existence that purushotama continues to be the savior.

Don’t we need anything on our part?

So long for many many janmas that supreme Lord has been ever waiting for a suitable opportunity to enter our hearts. Till date we have placed a strong resistance to it but fortunately today He utilized the gap and has succeeded to enter.  Not stopping Him and giving space for His entry is the requirement.

(vuLLuvAruLLaththu vuLan kandAi) He enters and cherishes His stay in the hearts of those who accept and rejoice the entry of the Lord whole heartedly (Advesham and Abhimukyam)

The above two lines is an exact replica of the mudal thiruvandhAdhi 99th paasuram.  The commentary also reflects the same.

(vuththaman endrum vuLan kandAi) If we consider our act of not stopping Him is the means (effort from our end) that is also not actually true as it was achieved only due to His tireless efforts for many many janmas (anadhikara efforts).  So, there is no effort from our end.

(viNNodunga kOduyarum veengaruvi vEnkataththAn) The one who resides in thirumala, with tall peaks as if pushing all the upper worlds to a corner, with waterfalls overflowing with water in all directions.  That Lord descended to Thirumals, with the basic motto of capturing the non-accepting minds of the Jeevas.  One of the many many efforts the Lord puts to enter our hearts;

Vin – the upper worlds; KOdu –peaks of thirumala hills;

The peaks symbolize the supremacy (paratvam) of Lord srinivasa;
(veengaruvi) the waterfalls are indicative of the divine grace of the Lord;

(maNNodunga thAnaLandha man) He measured the universe with His divine feet establishing His supremacy.  He the king and controller of everything in this world (His property);

(man) The whole drama of measuring the earth with one feet and the upper world with the other and snatching the kingdom of mahabali and granting the same to Indra thereby establishing His Ultimate power of taking control of His properties and distributing the same to anyone He wishes.  All this enacting is to make me accept Him and allow Him to enter my heart;

Now that He has finally succeeded in His long-time effort Oh! My good mind what shall we worry about!
